Privacy

The privacy and trust of Healthy Oregon Project participants is important to our team. The health information collected about participants to conduct and oversee this research study will be stored in a HIPAA-compliant data repository for future research.

Additional important points about privacy in the study include:

•  Your personal information will be kept confidential. We will not use your name or your identity for publication or publicity purposes unless we have your special permission. 
•  Information may be shared with others outside of OHSU involved in conducting or overseeing research. The Healthy Oregon Project will only share data with researchers that have met requirements set by the OHSU Institutional Review Board (IRB) which continuously monitors privacy and ethical standards.
•  We may continue to use and share your information indefinitely.
•  Some surveys will ask you for health information about your relatives. Any information you give us will be kept confidential.
•  There will be no cost to you or your insurance company to participate in this study.

Participants who choose to enroll in the study will be provided with a detailed consent form that can be accessed at any time for review.
