Welcome to the
Healthy Oregon Project

The Healthy Oregon Project (HOP) is led by OHSU researchers to learn about the health of people in and around Oregon. Our goal is to understand the causes of cancer and to improve early detection in order to save lives with a no-cost genetic screening and surveys about Oregonians’ health, wellness, and behaviors.
HOP has more than 45,000 Oregonian participants who represent each county of the state. Thousands have learned if they have an increased genetic risk of cancer with the no-cost HOP Kit and other personalized health information through surveys.
